What is Biofield Tuning?

A gentle, sound-based healing practice that uses tuning forks to locate and resolve areas of stress, trauma, and energetic imbalance stored in your body's biofield.


Biofield Tuning is a therapeutic method developed by researcher and practitioner Eileen McKusick. It is based on the premise that the human body is surrounded by a bioelectric field - sometimes called the biofield or aura, that holds a record of every experience, emotion and trauma we have ever had. 


Using specially calibrated tuning forks, a Biofield Tuning practitioner combs through this field, listening for areas of dissonance - places where the energy is stuck, chaotic, or depleted. When such an area is found, the vibration of the tuning fork helps to resolve the disturbance, allowing the energy to flow freely again.


How Does a Session Work?

1. You lie fully clothed on a massage table.

There is no need to undress. You simply relax and breath while the practitioner works around your body.


2. Tuning forks are activated and moved through your field

The practitioner uses activated tuning forks to scan your biofield, starting at the outer edges and moving inward toward the body.


3. Areas of resistance are identified

When the fork encounters an area of energetic disturbance, the sound and vibration changes noticeably - both the practitioner and often the client can perceive this. 


4. The disturbance is resolved

The practitioner works with the fork in that area until the sound smooths out, indicating that the energy has shifted and integrated.


5. You rest and integrate

After the session, you are given time to rest. Many clients feel deeply relaxed, lighter, or emotionally clear.

Biofield Tuning is generally considered sage for most people. However, it is not recommended during Pregnancy, for those with pacemakers, or for individuals with active cancer. Please let your practitioner know about any health conditions before your session.

Many clients notice a shift after just one session. For deeper or more longstanding patterns, a series of 3 or more sessions is often recommended. Your practitioner will discuss what feels right for your situation. 

Drink plenty of water, rest if possible, and avoid alcohol for 24 hours. Some people experience a detox-like response (fatigue, emotional release) in the day or two following a session - this is normal and a sign that the body is integrating the work.  

No. Biofield Tuning is based on physics - specifically the properties of sound and electromagnetism. Skeptics and believers alike report meaningful results. 

Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Desert Sea Sanctuary, each appointment, session, event, and reservation is prepared with care and reserved specifically for you. To honor the time, energy, and scheduling involved, all bookings and purchases are final and non-refundable.


If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice before your scheduled appointment, session, event, or reservation. Requests made with less than 48 hours’ notice may not be accommodated and are not eligible for a refund.


Guests who do not attend their scheduled booking without notice will be considered a no-show. No-shows are non-refundable and are not eligible for rescheduling or credit.


Please plan to arrive on time, as late arrivals may result in a shortened session or appointment. Full payment will still apply.


Any exceptions to this policy are made solely at the discretion of Desert Sea Sanctuary and may be considered only in limited emergency situations.
